GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This table provides an estimated duration for students to reach their target IELTS band score based on their entrance test result.
- Entrance Test Result: This is the student’s initial score after taking the diagnostic or entrance test, giving an idea of their starting level.
- Target Band Score: This is the band score the student aims to achieve by the end of the course, based on their entrance test result.
- Duration: The amount of time (weeks) it will take for the student to reach the desired target band score. The duration is an estimate and can vary depending on the student’s progress, effort, and consistency in following the course material.
KEY NOTES 1:
- 8-Week Duration Minimum: A shorter duration is suited for students with a solid foundation in English who need to focus on specific areas for improvement.
- 12 Duration is recommendation: Longer durations are for students who need more time to improve language skills in all areas, including vocabulary, grammar, speaking fluency, and writing coherence.

GENERAL POLICIES
A. Attendance Policy:
- Regular Attendance is Required: Students must attend all scheduled classes to ensure full participation and maximize learning. Missing more than two classes without a valid reason may result in a review of the student’s progress and potential course consequences.
- Make-Up Classes: If a student misses a class, they must inform the instructor at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a make-up session, subject to availability. Make-up classes should be completed within the same week of absence.
- Excused Absences: Valid reasons for absence include medical emergencies, family emergencies, or work-related obligations. Documentation may be required for excused absences.
B. Tardiness Policy:
- On-Time Arrival: Students are expected to be on time for all classes. Arriving 5 minutes or more late will be marked as tardy
- Late Arrivals: If a student arrives more than 10 minutes late without prior notice, they may miss essential content and will not be allowed to join the session.
- Repeated tardiness will affect the overall learning experience and may result in a discussion with the course coordinator.
- Early Departures: Leaving the class early without prior approval will be recorded as an absence.
C. Daily Vocabulary Test Policy:
- Daily Vocabulary Tests: Students are required to take the Daily Vocabulary Test at the beginning of each class. These tests will cover new words learned in the previous class and are crucial for reinforcing vocabulary acquisition.
- Missed Daily Vocabulary Tests: If a student misses a Daily Vocabulary Test due to an excused absence for 3 consecutive days or a total of 3 days in a 2-week row, a warning letter will be given.
- Score Impact: Daily Vocabulary Test scores contribute to the overall performance evaluation, and consistent poor results may indicate a need for extra focus on vocabulary practice.
D. Mock Test Policy:
- Mandatory Mock Tests: Students will be required to take periodic mock tests that simulate the real IELTS exam. These tests are essential for tracking progress and familiarizing students with the exam format.
- Mock Test Schedule: Mock tests will be held every week, and students must be present for the full duration. Failure to attend a scheduled mock test may result in a rescheduling fee or a loss of credit for that test.
- Mock Test Results: Results from mock tests will be reviewed with the instructor, and students are encouraged to use them as feedback to adjust their study plans and improve performance in weaker areas. Band scores should not decrease by more than three times.
- Retaking Mock Tests: Students are allowed to retake mock tests if they were absent due to a valid and emergency reasons, but this must be scheduled with the instructor. Retakes may incur an additional fee.
E. Homework and Assignments:
- Timely Submission: Homework and assignments must be submitted on or before the assigned deadlines. Late submissions will be penalized by a reduction in points.
- Revisions: If a student wishes to revise or resubmit a homework assignment for additional credit, this must be done within one week of receiving feedback.
F. Class Participation:
- Active Participation: Students are expected to engage actively in class discussions, group activities, and any interactive exercises. Participation helps reinforce learning and allows for better language retention.
- Behavior in Class: Respect for instructors and fellow students is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior, including the use of mobile phones for non-academic purposes during class, may result in a warning or removal from class for the day.
G. Final Exam/Assessment Policy:
- Final Assessment: A final exam or assessment will be given at the end of the course to assess students’ overall progress and mastery of the material. Students must complete the final exam to receive a course completion certificate.
